What’s happened here? How did that slip through the editorial net? Did SelfMadeHero supply the wrong file? Is the one on the right the large print edition?
Let’s take a look inside. Page 1.
(Brace yourselves.)
OOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, there’s a difference. One has words; the other has words and pictures.
I prefer the one with words and pictures. I like how the chapter heading is on the right-hand page.
That’s normal, isn’t?
Not with every book, it seems.
But this book - the left-hand book, if you’re wondering - is a fake.
The offending “publisher” has used the cover of I. N. J. Culbard’s graphic novel adaptationof The King in Yellow for his own CreateSpace release of the original book.
So, while they might nestle together as if they belong on the same floor, SelfMadeHero’s floor…
They don’t. One is a SelfMadeHero book. The other is a CreateSpace book.
First of all this list is in no way comprehensive. (I could probably list 50 things). Second, this is just my opinion. I know a LOT of artists and I keep seeing the same things happening at cons year after year. I feel people need to start operating differently, otherwise cons really are going to be a waste of money and time. So this is what I think most artists are doing wrong when they try to sell their stuff at cons…
Bear with me, I’m new here. This here’s a test cover for a work-in-progress called “The Red King.” It’s a comic miniseries about the historical Macbeth–not Shakespeare’s villain, but the king who actually ruled Scotland for 15 years in the early 11th century. Very different story, and I’m very keen to get this one moving. Art by Anna Wieszczyk, written by me. Eight-page sample here, if you fancy.
